The following information is being sent out to all media coordinators and
media contact persons within GLMA Districts 3, 4, 5 & 8 and will be in the
next GLMA newsletter.  Please share with your colleagues to be sure this
information if given out.


NORTH GEORGIA STUDENT MEDIA FESTIVAL

The North Georgia Student Media Festival for Districts 3, 4, 5 & 8 will be
held on May 8, 1998 at McHenry Elementary School in Rome, Georgia.  McHenry is
in the Floyd County School System in Northwest Georgia.

Registration checklists for the North Georgia Festival are due to Tony L. Pope
by April 17, 1998 and may be faxed or mailed.  Certificates will be prepared
for individual students and groups up to five members.  One certificate will
be printed for groups with more than five members.  Entries should be
delivered to McHenry by 4pm on Friday, May 1st.  This is one week prior to the
festival.

A web-site should be available within a week on the North Georgia Student
Media Festival.  This web-site will give directions to McHenry, information on
judging and an on-line judging req, links about Rome,  information on lodging
in Rome, etc.  The web-site may be reached from McHenry School's main web-page
at:

Schools and/or school systems must send one judge for every 10 entries.  For
instance, if you send 50 entries you must send 5 judges.  Those interested in
serving as a judge can request a Judges Information Sheet form from Tony L.
Pope via the contact information below or may fill one out on-line on the
North Georgia Student Media Festival web-page mentioned above.  Lunch will be
provided.
