I will briefly explain my predicament. I know we are all at a swamped time of year, and I also realize many schools are far worse off than I. I am one certified librarian supervising three libraries, each in separate buildings. I had a full time aide in each building. I have built up a decent program coordinating all three buildings in lessons, coordinating with teachers, and taking a leading role in technology in all three buildings. THis year, without discussion or warning to me, in Dec. my library aides hours were cut. We dealt with it the best possible, with me partially covering, some closing early, etc. I am ammassing my ammunition for getting us back to full time next year. I have job duties, letters of support, details of what did not get done this year. The school board is not behind me. The building principals are, but this does not seem to help right this minute...they are being "run" by the superintendent right now. My MAIN question right now is: Has ANYONE of all 9000 of us had a success!!! in reversing such proposals or such decision? Have you gone to the newspapers, press, students for petitions or community in any way for support? I am not a strong public speaker, even though I will stand up for my department. ANd any help will be of vast benefit to me.
