I'm operating in a Windows network environment with direct Internet access. CD-ROM tower is available but I'm leaning toward on-line databases because it's too hard to update even 4 times a year. We have one tech in the district for 13 schools. I am currently re-evaluating my choice of EBSCO Full MAS (select) magazine index and full text on CD-ROM. They do not seem to fulfill the needs of the AP Science classes in my school. While the Elite and Premier editions seem to do a better job (more science magazines indexed and full text), my teachers are looking for Scientific American and JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) in full text. Is anyone using a CD-ROM or on-line database that includes these two magazines in full text? I've looked at Electic Library and I find their magazine selections in the area of Science to be very poor. Their sales reps keep emphasizing all of the "bells and whistles" associated with their program but my teachers are not interested in TV scripts etc. They want scientific journals. How do you meet the needs of the AP Science students in your high school? -- Elizabeth Davenport Roseville High School LMC ed1mrvl@moa.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
