For those LMNETTERs who want a good explanation of email and other parts of the Internet, there is a new section in the NY Times called Circuits. I don't know if it's available in the National Edition, but it is on the Times's website ( http://www.nytimes.com ). You do have to register, and it's only free in the USA ( i think). The March 26 Circuits had a very good explanation of the email headers and how to detect faked messages. Armed with that, you could take the recent spam and figure out who to send the complaints to. There have also been good explanations of how a browser works on the Internet, and what a firewall is. Dan Robinson Indexing Services H.W.
