Marc records for cd's and computer programs

Have any of you had experience creating  Marc  records for CD's  and other
computer programs which will circulate from the library?  We have Alliance
Plus
from Follett (both book and AV disk)  however we are not getting enough hits.
Also  how do you store your computer disks and manuals.   We are limited in
space and this can be so cumbersome!!
