New York, NY 10036

The first step is to get the ID number for the publisher.  Then the books
get numbers keyed to that publisher ID number plus, in effect, a serial
number for each specific book.  There is a fee for the service.

The address is from a book published in 1983, so you might want to call R.R.
Bowker Company first to confirm.
