For the 97/98 school year I have worked in a high school library which has a completely accessible 24-unit computer lab with full internet access. I was appalled recently when the "technology coordinator" began announcing to students that he had erased their "B-drive" [files] because of their content. Similarly, he announced to other students that, because of their grades, their login would be disabled until he decided grades were good enough. Because this "lab" is also used after school for playing "Quake," there have been serious on-going problems with network functioning. One weekend the entire B-drive was wiped out. Faculty and staff also store their files on the "B drive,"so presumably these files are available between crashes. We do have a district firewall and local site-based screening software (Cyber Patrol) in place. What issues would you have with this?
