Does anyone have data or statistics or studies on the benefits of readinng-aloud to all grade levels? I know that Jim Trelease in "Read-Aloud Handbook" quotes some studies but they are from 1985. Does it improve reading skills? Vocabulary? General Knowledge? Does it promote reading? I have a Spec Ed professor who doubts it. - Eileen Schauermann, Librarian, St. John School K - 8, Westminster, Md 21157 ~:>8< eas001@ns1.wmdc.edu =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
