It is that time of year again. During National Library Week, which for us is the last week in August due to school calendar, we invite professionals, educators, politicans and artists to our school. For one week we invite the WHOLE SCHOOL to the library to participate in our celebration. For 8 periods all day our invited guests read aloud for 5 minutes to 4 classes in the library all day long. And one day is Librarians Day! We need to be recognized and what's wrong with recognizing ourselves???!!!?!?! It take months of advanced planning, many phone calls and faith in our celebration. This is the 6th year that I have done it at my school and what a success. Exhausting but exciting. This year the Superintendant will be reading aloud to our students again. I wonder, is there any advice about publicity. I wonder if we should go to a radio station or tv. Any suggestions LM_NETERS? Thanks in advance. -- Judith Dahill, Librarian "Life is a garden.
