As I gave my BIG6 presentation Friday at NMLDate: Tue, 28 Apr 1998 00:39:28 EDT amazed that some of my closest professional friends are folks I have never met --except online through LM_NET. Your kind words as well as a real understanding of the importance of the award are what feed the "soul". Thank you . I apologize for the typos as I just let the thoughts flow and did not proof. I must clarify that I would like to duplicate the efforts of Sheryl Smith, Library Coordinator for the State of Utah in the Department of Education. I heard about her work from Mike Eisenberg when taking his Big6 course in Syracuse a couple of summers ago. He had just returned from doing a Utah statewide institute with her for teachers, administrators and librarians. I was impressed with her efforts to organize the whole state to use the Big6. Would love to hear from some UTAH librarians that participated in this effort. I have talked to Sheryl Smith on the phone and briefly met her at AASL in Portland. She is doing great work for Utah. Thanks again for your kind words of congratulations. Perhaps a book that describes the history of each issue along with pros and cons would be nice?... Readers Guide (although we don't have but five different magazines)?...Internet? I will see if the companies from whom we get our magazine subscriptions from will send an index of back issue articles. Thanks for your consideration.
