I used Chancery's Library Pro in two of the four districts I've been a
media specialist in. One of those districts only used it for a year, then
switched to Athena, Of the four programs I've worked with, Chancery's
Library Pro was the absolute worst. The data is unreliable, data loss is
frequent, and forget about tech support. They'll charge you a fortune
unless you allow only one person in your district to make the calls.
(They'll assign a secret password to that person!!) When you finally get
through to someone, they tell you that their next upgrade will solve the
problem, but the upgrade never comes on time. When it does come, you have
new problems.
At least that was the way it was a year and a half ago. We were so unhappy
that we had a couple of reps come to our school and THEY even admitted
having a problem. One of them went so far as to say the company needed to
fire their programers. My advice - go back to the drawing board and look
for a better program. Almost anything is better than Chancery.
