Target: Canada - book

This amazing group knows everything!  I hope someone can help me... 5th =
grade language arts teacher will be teaching social studies next year & =
is looking for a *really good* novel she can use to teach the unit on =
Canada.  Theme is Canada then & now.  The Catch?  She has to turn in her =
novel order by 4-30-98.  She asked today at lunch.   Appreciate any =
help; will be glad to post a hit if there's interest.  TIA.
