TARGET: Accelerated Reader program opinions

Hello all,
   Our district teachers are beginning to investigate electronic reading
motivation software such as Accelerated Reader, Electronic Bookshelf,
That's a Fact Jack. If your school is using any of these programs will you
please respond with your opinion of these programs....TIA
P.S.  I did find the SLJ article written by Dr. Betty Carter which listed
some cautions on these types of programs.
