Gen: Quote on rate of tech advances

I remember hearing an astounding statistic about how fast it is
estimated that advances in technology are occuring. Does anyone know the
numbers and have a source? I need this for the world's most supportive
tech specialist who is making a presentation tommorrow.(!!)  Thanks so
much.
