Dear LM_NETTERS, Maybe someone here can help. A friend is dealing with a horrible situation-- a parents' nightmare. Her wonderful 18 year old son has been diagnosed with a mental illness and has been getting worse (several arrests, hospitalizations, suicide attempts, etc over the last 8 months). The parents have now had to take away his rights and commit him to a locked hospital for treatment. My friend has left no stone unturned in getting information and expert treatment for her son, and the rest of her family. She is having trouble keeping up hope. Has anyone read an account of someone who has dealt with this type of illness and gotten treatment that has helped? Parental accounts or survivor stories that offer insight and encouragement is what I would like to offer her. Thank you so very much. Diane Diane Holzheimer Library Media Specialist Nathaniel P.
