What happened to cross-references?  They're a valid way of pointing from
obvious but illegal headings like Civil War to the standard United States
- History - 1861-1865 - Civil War.  They also appear in encyclopedias, the
telephone books Yellow Pages, and standardized tests.  They're one of my
standard reference lessons when fifth grade does a history project.
