Dear Netters: Have any of you using a Hewlett-Packard Laserjet 5L experienced paper feed (read "jam") problems? Of course, it bombed after warranty expired, and Dell Ware, who sold this lemon bundled with our computer, has been of even less help than HP. In my neighborhood (the Los Angeles area) I've been quoted a minimum of $80 just to say "Hi" to the printer. One honest repair station was kind enough to caution against repair saying that the problem reappears quite frequently, and that they had quite a few units customers had refused to fix or even pick up! HP was gracious enough to tell me that they would try to fix it if we paid shipping both ways, and sent a check for $149. We haven't even gone through one cartridge yet! Yikes! It really irks me to think about tossing what is basically a new printer, but for about double the repair, I could purchase a new, entirely different, printer. I was just wondering if any of you have had this happen with your HP LaserJet 5L.
