My L.Arts staff and I have used AR books and tests for 5 years. Our philosophy is that *any* book is an AR book as we write test questions. We use advanced 6th grade math classes to calculate the word count and readability. I enter the tests, and we are in business. If students read books that have no AR questions, we coach them in question writing, and give them credit for an AR testfor submitting good questions. We always make test questions for my Battle of the Books titles.
