Someone else requested a book care lesson for middle school, so maybe we can all help each other out. Mail me the most outlandish TRUE book damage story you've experienced. I'll use these in my book care lesson and provide the hit to the list so anyone else who wants to use them can, too. I think I will base my lesson on the hit TV show "ER." Here's mine, for a starter: I was finishing my lesson with a first grade class, and the highlight was a contest to "win" the chance to check out an extra book for the week. As the rest of the class lined up for lunch, the winner came to me for her book. I was holding it in both hands, waiting for her to reach out for it, when she suddenly leaned forward and threw up all over the book, me, and herself. I think you could say it was "DOA." -- *)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*) Gayle Hodur District Librarian Soledad Unified School District ghodur@redshift.com Snail mail: Main Street Middle School 441 Main Street Soledad, CA 93960 Pager screen names: UnGayle (IM and ichat) 10682291 (ICQ) 15661301 (ICQ - for &LibraryChat) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set-reset NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send email to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST 3) SET LM_NET MAIL * Please allow for confirmation from Listserv For LM_NET Help & Archives see: http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=
