High School Librarian, Lompoc Unified School District, Lompoc, CA.

Immediate opening for high school librarian.
Responsibilities include: selects, orders and wees library materials;
supplements district processing of materials; provides bibliographic
instruction for pupils and faculty and prepares bibliographies;
supervises and instructs clerical and student assistants and
voliunteers; assists faculty in instructional improvement programs;
supervises circulation, inventory, shelving, storing library materials
and keeps records and makes reports; motivates interest in use of
library media and informs faculty of new materials received; maintains
materials and keeps records and makes reports; maintains catalogs and
indexes; assists in analyzing and planning future needs; keeps current
professionally; supervises co-curricular activities and out of classroom
student activities.  Position reports to Principal and District
Librarian.

Requires:  Education and credential as required by California law; entry
level experience; ability to plan, organize, coordinate the effective
use of staff, facilities, equipment and time; ability to make effective
decisions based on sound, mature judgments, commuicate effectively and
delegate responsibility; commitment to improvement through research and
evaluation and possesses a positive philosophy of education.
