TECH: AMD vs. Intel

Hi,

I'd be grateful for a few comments regarding the AMD processor
vs. Intel.  My daughter found a Toshiba laptop she likes and
wants to have purchased for her office, but the purchasing
department called and wanted to make sure she knew about the
processor and still wanted the computer.  Does it really make a
difference?
