I recycled both of the card catalogs in two of my elementary media centers
into  stand-up height tables for a computer catalog.  By turning the drawer
space inward and reconfiguring the various sections it works beautifully.  I
set the keyboard on the pull-out writing shelves that were part of the old
catalog.  I wedged them from the inside so that they cannot be pushed in
now.  They really are classy looking.
