Dear 'Netters, Would some experienced book talkers give me some advice? I was planning on doing booktalks once a month in all the English classes. I was planning on introducing the same books in all the seventh grade classes, and then another set of books for the eighth graders (changing them of course each month.) Thinking this through though, I figured this won't work because the books will get taken out and I'll be talking about books that aren't available. My questions: How many copies of booktalk books do you usually have? How many books do you booktalk in a visit? and Does anyone booktalk a book they haven't read? This will begin my second year as a LMS and I really have been reading YA books like crazy, but I don't think I can keep up with different books for every English class, at least not this year. Any advice from sucessful, experienced booktalkers would be most appreciated.
