MANY thanks to: Joni, Kimberly, Velda, Randi, Mary, Lynn, Megan, Anne, Deborah, Betsy, Jeff, and Ellen who all responded to my question regarding Book Fairs and the PTO. Here is a summary of the suggestions and the number of people who responded with each: "...fight for the book fair." (3) "Never, never fight with the PTO." (5) "call the PTO president to offer to help with the PTO fair." (Ask for funds for the library from the PTO) (4) "Instead I would plan for ..." (other type of fundraiser: candy, magazines, read-a-thon, etc.) (4) "the better fundraising activity... is for the school district to accept and meet its responsibility..."(1) If anyone would like the total HIT forwarded to them, please let me know directly. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Kate Wakefield Library Media Specialist John F.
