7th grade read-aloud

I'm looking for recommendations for a 7th grade read-aloud.  The book
should take place in the present, school setting with 7th, 8th, or 9th
grade male and female characters, and have humor.  This is a request for
the best, most supportive teacher I ever had the pleasure to work with.  I
couldn't think of anything.  Can any of you?
