In the Washington area, television has been the depressing factor, for those who continue to look at the ever more voyerist and salacious news.There is a problem , and it is consumerism, and of course there are other problems. If you are in our area , here is a relief. It may be that media specialist need to educate the public, and you could organize your own projects.. on believing the media. American University's School of Communication is sponsoring a FREE public forum on Tuesday, Sept. 8. It will be held from 7:30pm-9:00 pm in the Kay Spiritual Life Center on AU's main campus. The forum is entitled: "Extra! Extra! Read All About It: Lies, Deception and Reckless Spin in the News" panelists include: Brent Bozell, Media Research Center, David Carr, editor, Wash City Paper, Karen DeYoung, asst. managing editor, Wash Post and Sam Fulwood III, columnist, L.A. Times. The discussion will be moderated by Sanford U.
