Folks, I am convinced now that the directions for a wreath that I remember were for the old computer punch cards. However, I did some experimenting with catalog cards and, although they are harder to work with, the wreaths came out great. Since I had so many requests, I am sending the following directions over the listserv. CATALOG CARD WREATH (18" wreath) Base: Round 9 1/2" circle cut from used poster board. 2 3/4" circle cut in center to form wreath shape. Cards: Bend (do not crease or fold) two end corners to meet and form a point at one end of card and staple. It is necessary to use a small (Tot-sized) stapler. Row 1 (outer edge) - 10 cards Staple flat ends approximately 3/4" in from outer edge of base. Row 2 (working toward center) - 10 cards Staple approximately 1/2" in from first row. Row 3 - 10 cards Trim 1/2" from flat end of card. Arrange and staple. Row 4 - 5 cards Trim 1 1/2" from flat end of card. Arrange and staple. Row 5 - Can be done in several ways. This is where one's creativity takes over. a. 5 cards: cut in half (5"x1 1/2"). Form into points. Fold flat ends under at center hole. If you use staples on this row, glue a green felt ring around center hole to cover the staples (after spraying). or: b. 2 cards: cut into fourths. Form into points. Fold flat ends under at center hole. Do the same as above. Spray finished wreath green. There are rod holes visible. Glue a small red pompom in each hole. Attach a ribbon. Time involved - Once you have all your materials assembled, and have folded a few cards, this wreath takes very little time to assemble. A wreath this size uses only approximately 40 cards, but it is fun, easy, and unique. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
