I maintain my consider for order file on a MS Works database. I read journals and hightlight the items which I consider I am going to need. Then my clerk, or usually I enter them on the database with all the pertinent info: author, title, pub,ISBN,grade level, price, recommending source and date(I indicate whether it is a starred review also), purchasing source, date ordered, date received, etc. I also have a field for a call number so that I can sort by Dewey and find areas of the collection I need to strengthen. I can print an order list, a new book list, etc using the same database. It is also easy to discard records for books which have been "hanging around" waiting to be ordered. If you have any questions, get back to me personally and I'll try to help.
