Thanks to all who responded. I've included below any tips I got, including the response I got from the puzzlemaker webmaster (the first one below). BR ############################# Brian Regan Librarian East Rochester High School East Rochester, NY 14445 Brian_Regan@ccmail.monroe.edu bregan@frontiernet.net ############################# __________________________________________________________________________ Have you tried to save the puzzle to a word processor? There are directions on our FAQs link if you want to try that. I'm not sure what else to suggest at this time. Please check back with us and hopefully we will have more information later. Unfortunately, in order to keep the Puzzlemaker on the web we had to go to this new format. We are doing everything we can to make the transition go smoothly. We have a call in to Microsoft and we will post additional information on our FAQs link as it becomes available to us. (It seems to be a flaw in the software.) We are trying to determine a fix so please check back with us periodically. Also, you should be able to still use the word search puzzles with your current browser. Thank you- Paul Stephens ______________________________________________________________________ I tried this site again, and now it works fine on my broswer (Netscape 4.06), but it didn't earlier this evening (?). It depends on what version of Netscape you are using. It needs to be version 4.04+. Or, try using MS Internet Explorer. It works *very* well for this site, and for other sites using png graphics. Here is the official PNG website http://www.cdrom.com/pub/png/ Here is Puzzlemaker's explanation (FAQ) about their new png format. http://www.puzzlemaker.com/FAQs.html Regards, Meg Schimmels __________________________________________________________________ This page gives lots of choices for downloads of viewers for this type of file. Maybe you just need a plug-in for one of your viewers, QuickTime for example. http://www.cdrom.com/pub/png/pngapbr.html Hope this helps. Joyce ___________________________________________________________________ It works fine still on my Mac G3 with Netscape 4.05. (Doesn't look any different). Steve Morelock __________________________________________________________ One way round it is to use a paint programme - open the PNG document and then save it in GIF format.
