The Administrative types in our school district are looking for ways to revamp our Summer School program. One suggestion has been to have the LMC (Library Media Center) open one or two nights per week for Family use. I hope that this group can help me find information to assist in the decision making process. What works and what doesn't work in this type of progam?? Who staffs the center - volunteers or staff?? What training is provided volunteers? What are the contractual inplications that occur? Who problem solves the technology used - Internet/Automated Library systems/computer use? What about lost materials? What are the unforseen problems in this type of program? What are the great things that occur when this type of program works?? Respond directly to me if possible.
