This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0024_01BE1EC7.59D1CF00 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry. =20 For those who wanted the meaning, here it is: =20 If a child wants to borrow a book that you think is too = difficult for him/her to appreciate, have the child turn to any page in = the book and read it out loud to you. Is s/he encounters a word that is = unknown, then one finger is held up. If all four fingers and a thumb = are raised by the time the last word on the page is read, then that book = might be considered too hard for the child. =20 A rule of thumb (pun intended) that I use is, does the child = want the parents or care-givers to read the book out loud for story = sharing, or does the child intend to read it alone. If it is for story = sharing, then I allow a second choice to be made, too. Again, thanks to all. You guys are the greatest!
