SEC: AR Star test

We have just started using the STAR test for reading levels for AR.  It does
not seem to be anything but a vocabulary test and it does not seem to be
providing as accurate a level as the Stanford Diagnostic Reading test we
used to use.  When we compared about 60 of our 9th graders on both tests we
found that most of them but not all of them scored quite a bit higher on the
STAR test-sometimes 5 or 6 grade levels higher!!!  Has anyone else had any
experience with this.  We are comtemplating sending back the test for our
money back.
