ELEM: BOOK LIST

Dear Friends,
        I know that alot of you are already leaving for break but I need HELP!
A parent called yesterday and requested a list of books to buy for her
3rd grade boy.  The interesting thing is that he reads at a much higher
level, say 4-6 grd.  Does anyone out there have some surefire
suggestions?  I have already looked in SLJ and some lists of my own but
I want to make sure I don't miss any great books.  The books can be
fiction or non fiction.
