If you have migrated from one library software system to another I would like to hear from you. There was so much response to my post of several weeks ago on what to look for in such a situation that I am working on an article about migration. My personal experience (and the reason I posted about it) was that there was nothing really helpful available about the things you run into that are different from the first time you automated your library. There are lots of articles that talk about the specs for various systems--but the choice as you migrate is very different. If you would be willing to answer some questions, and to do a little thinking outloud---I will acknowledge your participation--I will not be earning any money from this---just hopefully providing a little help to those beginning this process. Try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers which cannot be given because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answers." -- Maria Rilke "Letters to a Young Poet" =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
