Re: St. Pat's, green, and pinching

Dear Netters,

I read with interest MaryAnn Rizzo's explanation of the colors and traditions
surrounding St. Patrick's Day.  I remember a fellow student in high school
proudly wearing RED on the day because she was English.  Even though our
community was not strongly Irish nor non-Irish, her behavior caused some furor
among Irish students.  We did not pinch, however.  (Southeastern Pennsylvania)
