Hi all, My name is Lisa Gannon and I am a teacher librarian at a secondary school in Perth, Western Australia. I have been at my new school for 4 days, on Friday afternoon one of the English teachers asked me to introduce research materials to his Yr 11 class (15 year olds) for the novel All quiet on the Western Front. This is to be done first thing on Monday morning. I am embarrassed to admit that I have never read this novel. The Web sites that should give me an idea of the plot cannot be found. The only info I can get is from the movie and I don't know how close to the book it was. (You guessed it, I haven't seen the movie either) I've been sitting at the computer now for a couple of hours and I am getting desperate. If anyone could give me a rough outline of the plot, where it was set etc I will be grateful. Also any Web sites regarding WW1, conditions at the front line, weapons used would be great. I can do all the books in the morning but I'm running out of time for the Web sites. Thanks in anticipation Lisa Gannon Teacher Librarian Woodvale Senior High School Western Australia gannon@wantree.com.au =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
