TARGET: MID Readathon ideas

LM_NETTERS
           I am looking for ideas for a middle school ( 6th - 8th ) grade
readathon.  I particularily need procedures (tried and true) and specifics on
how to organize and  whether there is a specific cause or purpose connected
to it (the readathon) i.e.  targeted charity, homeless project,
environment/ecology club etc. Thanks.
