POSITION:Library Media Specialist
SCHOOL: High School
GRADES: 9-12

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should be supportive of the school
and library missions, have expert knowledge of library systems and
literature throughout the disciplines;  be comfortable with all aspects of
information and communications technology; be committed to continuing
professional growth as well as to the teaching and instructional consultant
roles of the library media specialist; understand and promote for all
students the systematic acquisition of information literacy skills and
their integration throughout the High School curriculum;  understand and
use the pedagogy involved in resource-based learning;  enjoy working with
adolescents and possess abilities to establish and maintain behavioral
expectations in a fair, unbiased way;  possess excellent organizational and
interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with various school groups
to make the Library Media Center an instructional focal point for the
school.  Massachusetts certification required; Masters' Degree in Library
Science preferred.

SALARY: Consistent with LEA/LSC contract
STARTING DATE:  September 1, 1998
