This is a sorry tale and I understand the feelings of Ruth as she is ignored for all the work she has done. I suppose that legally there is no redress. I suppose some kind of disillusionment is inevitable but what can she do? Having faced a similar scenario (in my own mind at least) I can suggest two alternatives: 1 the professional approach. Complete the site to the highest standards, make sure your name is all over it, get it publicised, collect any plaudits and favourable comments in a "boasting book" and show the world that your libour school and by implication YOU are BRILLIANT! 2. Stop production now. Replace the indexpage with a message such as this: It is with great regret that we announce the [school name] site has closed, due to lack of support by [the principal or the management]. This is [your name] signing off. hope you enjoyed it while it was here. Comments should be sent to [principal's e-mail address] Then publicise this on as many listservs as you wish. Personally I've dreamt of doing 2 but have ended up doing 1. I feel the more virtuous for it. Am I right? What do others think?
