Put the carbon and the book into a plastic bag. Mix thoroughly, allowing the carbon between pages, between the cover and the dust jacket -- everywhere you can. Close the bag tightly, stand the book on its edge (spine up) and fan the pages open so the book will stand like a pup tent in the bag. After a few days, mix it all up and do it again. After a week, take the book out and check it. Repeat as necessary, but you might need fresh carbon. Good luck. Let me know how it goes...
