Info request Michigan: Average cost of funeral

Hi,

Person I know going through a very difficult situation.  Now needs to
plan for parent's funeral.  I believe she may be getting too high of
prices ($16,000).  The family is not well off.  She has asked for
assistance with this.  I have looked on the web but not found what would
help.

I want to let her know about how much an average funeral should cost in
Lansing, Michigan.  Also, I want to give her real information about
actual needed components and those prices.  She is understandedly not
thinking as clearly as needed & could use assistance.  She is however
doing this planning before the death has occured - therefore there is
some hope she has time to make a better decision.
