I will be escorting a group of high school students to England in April, and I am CONSIDERING allowing parents to give their children advance permission to taste a single English beer or ale in a pub at lunch in the presence of a chaperone. What is the legal drinking age in England? I have heard 16, and I have heard that there is none. Obviously, parental permission would be superceded by local law, but the majority of students will be over 16. Does your school allow students to sample alcohol (such as a glass of wine during a trip to France, etc.) on a school-sponsored trip? I want to give students the opportunity to have a true pub experience, but I am a bit nervous about allowing students ANY access to alcohol. Thanks for any advice. ||~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\/~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|| || Bonnie | Fulmer || || Spackenkill | High School || || 112 Spack- | enkill Road || || Poughkeepsie, | NY 12603 || || voice: (914) | 463-7810 || || fax: (914) | 463-7817 || || gbf1@maristb.marist.edu || ||______________/\______________|| =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
