Hi, Thanks to all of you who responded to my comments on Internet safety. It seems there is a real range of the kind of Internet activities used in schools. Some use just the World Wide Web, others use email and chat rooms as well. Some use filters, some do not. There's an interesting article on the topic by CArolyn CAywood called "Raising net.citizens." It was in School LIbrary Journal/January 1995. The subtitle is: "Instead of banning YAs from the Internet, we should look for reasons why they should participate."
