library automation

Hi, this is my first time posting.  I hope this goes through.

I am beginning the automation process in my library of 4500 records.  I
have been looking at automation programs for Windows 95.  I was just
wandering if anyone could explain to me the difference between the 16 bit
applications (Athena) or 32 bit applications(Concourse, Spectrum, etc.).
Thanks for any input.
