Results: Davis JUSD library cuts

Dear friends,
        The vote is in and there is good news and bad news.  The good news
is that they voted to keep the  librarians at the current staffing levels.
The bad news is that they are still considering cutting our clerks (anywhere
between 10 and 30%). That decision does not have to be made until late April
as classified employees do not legally require as much layoff-notice.
        Thank you to all who wrote to the Board.  I am sure that the
"outside" scrutiny caused them to be a bit more cautious and deliberate.
Thank you to all of you who wrote notes of encouragement to me and my
colleagues.  We all appreciated the good wishes.
