Dear group,
I posed a question about material types for things like talking globes,
posters, etc.
I received a lot of great answers and I want to thank everyone who
responded. As per privacy discussion, I am not mentioning anyone by name
but please know that I appreciate all the sound and useful advice that
you gave me.
        Bonnie.

 Suggestions included to catalog as
* models
* AV materials
* Realia but also include as instructional materials
* "maps and globes" and "study prints"
* I class them as globes or models. We use GLO and
     MOD for headings. Posters might fit a study print category.
*  three-dimensial objects

* Try using a GMD bracketed such as [Globe]. For all types of things in
flat form the British system is to use GMD [Graphic] but US uses a
variety
of GMDs such as picture, art original, chart, technical drawing,
transparency, etc. If you use a top line call number "locator", that is
indicator for where stored you solve most problems. You do this for
nonprint such as CD or FS or Trans. or Kit, yes? If you have narrow
drawers or a file cabinet in which you store your flat pictures make up
an
abbreviation for that to use as a locator. VF for verticdal file?
Depends on size of item, of course.
