Greetings LM_NETTERS!

Happy New Year from Mike and Peter.  1998 is going to be a special year
for LM_NET.  To kick it off, we have a special gift for all of you:

LM_Live! The virtual, real-time forum for the school library media field.

What Is LM_Live?
LM_Live! is a service intended to facilitiate communication and
community-building for library media specialists and others interested in
the school library, information, and technology fields.

What Does LM_Live Offer?
LM_Live! currently offers 2 features:

   1. LM_Chat - a 24hr, 7 day a week, open chat environment
      for those interested in discussing library and information
      topics.

   2. LM_Conf - a monthly, live conference on a topic of interest
      to the library and information field. LM_Conf is a collaborative
      effort of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL)
      and LM_NET, the School Library Media Network.

How do I get started?

There is a transcript of a prior LM_Conf discussion, which was held on
December 10, as a test run.

Be sure to go in as a registered user. The userid is: lm and the password
is: live

Please note that we are just getting started in this adventure.  So, you
may log in to LM_Chat and have no one else there.  Be patient!  Before
long there will be hundreds (and we'll set up lots of subchannels).
We will soon be announcing the next test-run of LM_Conf as well. Stay
tuned!
