I've found a nifty service online that I use when looking for "alternatives to..." First of all, I do NOT work for Amazon.Com ... I'm just a regular (and happy) customer. But www.amazon.com - a very complete online bookstore - has a recommendation center that allows you to do the following searches: 1. . BookMatcher Do you love Poe, but loathe Thoreau? Live for histories but yawn at mysteries? Tell BookMatcher what you love--and hate--and it will predict books it thinks you'll like. Magic? Truth be told, it's just math mixed with fun. Give it a go! 2. If You Like This Author . . . If your favorite author is on their list of favorite authors, it will try to match you up with books by other authors that are similar or may appeal to you... This won't be perfect, sometimes it will recommend, of course, newer books we may not have yet ... but it is nifty and my kids like to check it out... -- jrathbun@orednet.org : www.lincolncity.org/schools If you need a vacation you should see the state I'm in! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
