GEN: Missing "The Good Stuff" on chat

While a lot of info is posted to the listserv, there is, and always has
been a lot of behind the scenes personal postings between members that we
do not share in. We miss that information, too. Chatting is just another
extension of this. I don't think that the chat will take away from the
list. The list is a wonderful and organized structure and will remain so.
Chatting, while it will be on-topic most of the time, at least allows us a
format that promotes our becoming friends as well as colleagues. I don't
have a lot of time to spend chatting, but I really enjoy the opportunities,
and I'd much rather chat with you interesting people than in many of the
empty-headed chat rooms I've travelled through in the past. You'd better
believe that if something really great comes up on the chat, someone is
going to bring it forward to the list. You can't keep a good idea down (or
quiet, either)!
