Target: Library automation programs for elem. & sec. schools

Dear LM_NETTERS,
I require help with research on library automation programs for our
board. 85 elementary schools,
15 high schools. 80% of our elemenatary schools are presently using
Nichols Advanced
Technologies - MOLLI or ATHENA for the past 6 years. The high schools
have been using for the
most part - Columbia.
During the new year all of the schools will be hooked up by a WAN
Windows NT systems, using
WIN95 operating system. A committee has been formed to investigate the
most effiecient and
effective library automation program with the future in mind. A program
with inernet and intranet
capabliblities is required.
The Follett program is suggested as the solution for us. Funding will be
school-based.
I need to develop criteria for evaluating the software that our
committee decides to look at.
We will look at:
Follett
Athena
Columbia
Winebego

    Please offer:

1.    any other appropriate programs that you think meet the above
specifications. (Do these companies have websites and do they offer
trial software )

2.    suggested criteria to reference of evaluation of each program

3.    success stories

4.    programs that offer ease of use for elementary students but
comprehensive enough for use with high school  collection

5.    program sold by Canadian distributor (for ease in duty and change
of dollars)

I certainly would appreciate your valued insight.
